get rid of the old one

December 11th, 2008

I was just reading everyones blog (which is a very nice thing to do) and got to mine and realised it was dated October. Now that was before the Symposium I was involved in so I was a bit busy but then it was at the time I was the busiest. How can you do blogging without feeling bad that you’re not doing blogging. It was only a little while ago I realised that Blog Roll only keeps the latest blog. Thats bad in two ways.

First with my blog discipline some peoples blog will have changed many times and I will have missed it. I remember asking David once why he didnt blog much. I think he was a bit bemused but fortunately he still is nice to me. In fact we are teh Bruswick St Pool champions but thats another story.

Second, my last blog doesnt go away.

Well it has now

How Green is my Valley

December 7th, 2008

With all the rain we have been having here everything is so green. It doesn’t feel like the desert at all. For those of you who have visited us, you wouldn’t recognise the place. Grass and flowers everywhere and so poor old long suffering Keith has been out on the tractor each weekend slashing the grass. He’s such a hero.  All the trees we planted have tripled in size and my vegie garden is looking good again.  There are heaps more birds and frogs and, unfortunately, a few more flies and mozzies too. All the rock holes in the area are full of water and there are still a few puddles left in the Todd and in the river opposite us. Last weekend Keith and I had a wonderful day and walked the Chain of Ponds at John Hayes Rockhole about an hour east of Alice. We basically followed a river bed through a gorge going from one swimming hole to another. We had done the walk before but it was always dry. Seeing it with water was just so beautiful! And we had the place to ourselves because everyone else just walked to the rockhole by the car park and stopped there.  It was a pretty magical experience.
